Winter Shipping: What You Need to Know
The one drawback of non-alcoholic beverages? They lack the freeze-proof powers of their alcoholic counterparts.
During the winter months, we’ve noticed a spike in reported damages caused by freezing during delivery. While we’ve tried every packaging solution under the sun, nothing can fully prevent this issue once your package is left outside in freezing temperatures.
Here’s what happens:
- The postage carrier drops off your product at your door or mailbox.
- It sits in freezing temperatures for hours—or sometimes just minutes!
- The liquid inside freezes, expands, and pushes the bottle’s cork up and out.
- This results in bottles arriving uncapped and causing leakage.
We understand how frustrating this can be, and we’re working hard to solve it. Here’s how we’re addressing winter shipping challenges:
- Expedited Shipping Options: We’re working to provide more affordable expedited shipping options so your product spends less time in transit.
- Signature Required: Soon, you’ll have the option to request signature-required delivery, ensuring packages don’t sit outside in the cold.
What You Can Do in the Meantime:
To help protect your order from freezing, we recommend:
1) Tracking Your Package Closely:
Use the SHOP app or sign up for text alerts with the carrier (UPS, USPS, etc.) once you receive your tracking number. This way, you’ll know exactly when your package is delivered.
2) Collecting Your Package Promptly:
If not you, arrange for someone at home—or even a neighbor—to bring the package inside as soon as it arrives.
We’re so grateful for your support and patience as we work to navigate these winter challenges. The last thing we want is for your Kava Haven experience to be anything less than perfect!
